Wavecom SA, the business leader in the wireless communications solutions for the automotive sectors, industrial M2M and professional mobile applications, announce that A.P. Systems, Italian business leader in the realizations of systems for the market of the tele- reading , has chosen the Wavecom wireless solutions for its new line of advanced communications in the tele- reading of electricity meter.

With the liberalisations of the electricity the distributors have to be able to monitoring, sign and manage the electric consume both for the domestic use and the industrial one. AP Systems has developed a new system of tele- reading for monitoring and controlling the consume of the electrics use through the last and modern technologies about the wireless communications. This will permit to the distribution businesses to update the meters with new technologies of communications trough the integrations of concentrator for the domestic use and connecting directly the industrial or isolated one. 

Since 2002 Wavecom and AP Systems have been positively collaborating both the technical and commercial level. The team has created several terminals that represent the state of the communication field of the M2M metering. This answer to the need of the Region EMEA of raises the level of the added value to the furniture of the energy. 

The Italian market in this sector is one of the most advanced in the world. During the last 5 years, the most part of the electricity meters have been updated with this communication technology. A base installed of more than 130.000 GSM/GPRS units in Italy, demonstrates the advantages of this technologies of the installed park to large scale.

The creation of a collaboration of long term between Wavecom and AP Systems has permitted the development of products recognized from the market for their characteristics of high quality, reliability and flexibility.

The availability of the Suite Software Wavecom Open AT^® ,which permit to the developers of personalize the applications directly about the market specific, is one of the major reason of the chose of AP Systems toward Wavecom as a strategic technical partner.

The object is that to maintain the actual clients’ portfolio going toward other countries in the EMEA zone giving standard solutions and customized them to connect different equipments according to the local lows.

An important characteristic of the based solutions on Wavecom Open AT^® is in the DOTA (Download Over The Air) functionality that can update the entire software systems and all operative system, the applicative software and the network software. These functions are an exclusive of Wavecom and are important for those applications where the equipments are installed for years and often they are difficult to reach.
