MANAGEMENT PUBLIC TRANSPORT SYSTEMS OF PASSENGERS: LIGHT, AVM AND AVL

The A.P. Systems MIT- Mobile Information Technology –division designs, realizes and integrates systems of management of public AVM and/or AVL transport in the sector of business of public transport, call-out services and in public and private transport of people and goods. These systems can be summarized according to the enabled performance in three different typologies that are:

- the only service certifications made by the fleet, applications for the service certification; it’s the “lighter” possible application which asks the only collection data on a vehicle for than download them at the end of the day and analyze them out of line in a centre with only an HW and SW informatics platform.

-the vehicles management (telephony link with the drivers and territory motor vehicles localization), often identified with the word AVL (Automatic Vehicle Location), which refers to the most frequent applicative typology linking a possibility of operative management to the control of the service. In fact, it is thought the registration and the data service analysis and the creation of a monitoring centre of vehicles where it’s possible control the position on the territorial graphic (cartography) that is available in a simple telephonic connection in way to interact with the drivers.

-the management of the whole fleet of vehicles and its goal is to manage at the real time the service of a headquarters, the underground and also situations that required a big control and urban automation. This new way of management is called AVM (Automatic Vehicle Monitoring), which gives a logic complexity instead of the previous typologies. The principles expectations of the operator are not only the certification of the service and the generic fleet monitoring, but they move toward the necessity of vehicle control with the possibility of intervene for the regularization of the service (manual or automatic options). This possibility gives a logic solution in monitoring the vehicles on the territory and on the service, in recording the journey time of the lines (hour, day and month) and in prospecting at real time the arrivals and the progress of the vehicles to a fixed number of “targets” of the networks, in deciding the fleet state (anticipations, delays, localizations,..). This system can also project the situation of the fleet in a limited period of time, it can also determine the eventual necessity of help for the regulation of, i.e., directions to the driver for accelerate, decelerate, to skip a stop, to swerve, to leave from the terminal after a period of time…. This AVM management controls the eventual dynamic variations of the service (detours, supports vehicles,..) and makes all the consumptions and the statistics analysis of the situation.
