Un formidabile strumento per la Polizia Locale:

A video patrol system for the police is a structure which gives the possibility to replace on the vehicle the same management supply of the informatics position available in the offices of the headquarter. With the access system of video patrol, if it’s active, the police can review the image of different position on the territory. In this way the autos become a small operative headquarters that can be directly use from the territory resources

Before what precluded the development of these applications was represented by the limited band for the communications through the air, that were insufficient with regard to the expected required. Luckily with the new standard UMTS able to guarantee better speed, the situation is changing: today, in the first phase of the network deployment you have services that are more the 100 Kbit/seconds. This band even if it doesn’t guarantee 20 image/seconds, it can support the management of a series of 3/4 image/seconds (value that can be better according to the grown of the network performance) with the guarantee of an ergonomic function of the video representation.

The aim of the system is that to arrange in the vehicles on automotive terminal the image at a real time directly from the video positions (cameras); the police trough a simple and efficient interface human-machine will have the possibility to select one or more image at the same time and observe them (live or from the video server archive) as an operator of the headquarter and can also manage all the principle options related to the management of the video: zoom, motion detection, speed of acquisition….etc

Apart from the functions of video surveillance, the subsystem gives access to the Internet network of the business are (i.e. the Town Information System) and to all the databank that can be useful for the service as the PRA archive for the immediate measure of the plate and other archive used by the allowed Institutions (Police, Home Office…). Thanks to the standard characteristic of the platform also all the other officer functions as sending and receiving documents are possible.
